Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Nirmal Dutta has been arrested by Bidhannagar Police in West Bengal, India. The arrest follows the circulation of a viral video in which Dutta claimed that Voter IDs are linked to Aadhaar, India's national identity system, and that individual votes could therefore be tracked. Authorities have deemed these remarks an act of voter intimidation. The case highlights ongoing concerns about misinformation and electoral integrity ahead of India's general elections.
