Australia secures 100M litres of diesel

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has announced the government has secured 100 million litres of diesel to address a national fuel crisis. The amount, however, is roughly equivalent to just one day of Australia's daily diesel consumption, which is approximately 92 million litres. The announcement comes amid a severe fuel shortage following a major fire at the Viva Energy refinery in Geelong, one of the country's last two operational refineries. The limited quantity highlights the scale of the ongoing supply challenge.
