Assam police seize heroin worth Rs 1.5 crore

Acting on intelligence, police in Assam's Cachar district intercepted a vehicle near the Ramnagar bypass under Silchar Police Station. They recovered 24 soap cases containing 290 grams of suspected heroin, valued at approximately Rs 1.5 crore, and also seized two mobile phones. Two individuals from the neighboring state of Manipur were arrested under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act as part of an intensified anti-drug drive in the region.
