Hezbollah ambush near Maroun al-Ras

Hezbollah forces have ambushed Israeli troops from the 101st Battalion of the Paratroopers Brigade near the town of Maroun al-Ras, east of Bint Jbeil. The attack involved a roadside bomb followed by close-quarters fighting, inflicting casualties and forcing the Israeli forces to retreat. The wounded Israeli soldiers were evacuated under fire to Maroun al-Ras and then by helicopter into Israel, while Hezbollah artillery targeted the evacuation route. Hezbollah claims its forces continue to resist in Bint Jbeil despite intense Israeli pressure.
