Shah rejects Muslim quota, mocks Akhilesh Yadav

A heated exchange took place between Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav over the issue of providing reservation to Muslim women. Home Minister Amit Shah completely rejected the idea of granting reservation on the basis of religion, stating it is unconstitutional. He also took a jibe at Yadav, telling him to "give all your tickets to Muslim women." The Samajwadi Party has been demanding a "quota within quota" for Muslim women in India's proposed Women's Reservation Bill.
