Ex-Lviv official detained in Austria for aid fraud

Gennadiy Vaskiv, a former deputy mayor of Lviv, has been detained in Austria on suspicion of large-scale embezzlement of European aid. According to the investigation, Vaskiv created the 'All for Victory' charity fund in March 2022, signed a partnership with an Estonian organization, then allegedly diverted donations totaling 1.55 million euros in August 2022. Ukrainian authorities have filed an extradition request for Vaskiv, who may have also stolen an additional 18 million UAH through inflated costs.
