Russia recruits Belgorod residents for UAV units

Municipal administrations in Russia's Belgorod region are directly calling residents to recruit them for contract service in UAV units. A source told the outlet 'Pepel' that he was called by the Krasnoyaruzhsky District administration with an offer to join the 'Rubikon' unmanned technology center, with his details then passed to the local military enlistment office. Officials promise the one-year contract, which requires three months of training in the Moscow region, will keep recruits exclusively in drone units, but local skepticism is high over potential reassignment to assault roles. The practice is reportedly widespread across the region, with allegations that local officials receive financial bonuses for each person recruited.
