Belgorod schools block search terms like 'ash', 'Ukraine'

Educational institutions in Russia's Belgorod region have implemented internet filters that block students from searching for specific terms on school computers. A student filmed a video showing that attempts to search for the word 'Pepel' (Ash) on Yandex are redirected to a page stating access is restricted for persons in educational organizations. The blocking, justified under Russian federal laws on extremism and child protection, also reportedly applies to the terms 'Hitler', 'RDK', and 'Ukraine', preventing students from accessing any historical or geographical information about these entities. The student's video was shared by the channel 'Pepel', which also promoted methods to bypass such restrictions.
