Russia condemns US Hormuz blockade

Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova has condemned the United States' blockade of the Strait of Hormuz as unlawful under international law and a driver of escalation. She warned that any use of US armed forces against Iranian ports or coasts would be defined as a crime and an act of aggression. Zakharova also dismissed a proposed French and British mission to restore navigation in the strait as an ineffective project. The statements were part of a wide-ranging briefing that also criticized Ukraine, Germany, and the US on other issues.
