Sweden's Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Micael Bydén, has warned that Russia could launch a provocation in the Baltic region at any time. In an interview with The Times, he stated Sweden is seriously considering a scenario where Russia could 'test the alliance's strength' by taking control of one of the islands in the Baltic Sea. According to Bydén, such a limited operation could be carried out after the end of the conflict in Ukraine, posing a direct challenge to NATO's collective defense.
