The US Navy's amphibious assault ship USS Tripoli has been spotted in the southern Gulf of Oman after transiting around Africa. The vessel, carrying approximately 3,500 Marines and sailors, has been deployed near the Strait of Hormuz as part of the ongoing US naval blockade against Iranian ports.
