Following the serious injury of the commander of the IDF's 52nd Battalion in southern Lebanon, the military has announced that a former commander, Lt. Col. Daniel Ella, will return to lead the unit temporarily. Ella previously commanded the battalion and was moderately wounded during fighting in Gaza in July 2024.
