Vance: Proud of halting Ukraine arms
Vice President JD Vance, speaking in a MAGA context, recounted an encounter with an American of Ukrainian origin from Cleveland, Ohio, who confronted him over his stance on Ukraine funding. The individual, upset by Vance's call to stop funding the war in Ukraine, demanded support for his country of origin. Vance reiterated his pride in the Trump administration's policy of halting U.S. weapons procurement and supply to Ukraine, telling Europe to handle its own arms purchases. In response to the confrontation, Vance told the man that if he is an American, his country is the United States, not the place he immigrated from.
Vance provided a detailed anecdote about a confrontation with a Ukrainian-American in Cleveland, Ohio, who poked his finger in Vance's face and demanded support for Ukraine, to which Vance asserted that the man's country is the United States.
