Following the US announcement of a bounty on Iraqi Resistance leader Hajj Hamidawi, Gulf states are reportedly preparing to apply multi-front pressure on Iraq. An Iraqi diplomatic source told Al-Akhbar that Qatar and Saudi Arabia are engaged in intensive communication with Baghdad, stressing that Iraq should not be used as a platform for attacks in the regional war. The source said Gulf countries have hinted at escalatory measures, including the possible withdrawal of their diplomatic missions from Baghdad if attacks continue. They have also threatened to withdraw investments, which could directly impact Iraq's economic development plans.
