Satellite imagery shows Russian A-50U at Yekaterinburg

Satellite imagery of Russia's Yekaterinburg Koltsovo Airport, dated April 14, 2026, reveals the presence of a Russian A-50U Mainstay airborne early warning and control aircraft. The imagery also shows a variety of other military aircraft at the site, including three An-12 transports, eight An-26 transports, two Tu-134 aircraft, one Il-18, and three Mi-8 helicopters. The A-50U is reported to have arrived at the airport between April 8 and 12. The presence of this high-value surveillance asset at a major transport hub is notable.
