Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has declared that Ukraine will work to unblock the Strait of Hormuz, which he says is currently being blocked by the militaries of Iran and the United States. He cited Ukraine's experience from the Russian blockade of the Black Sea as relevant expertise. Zelensky added that the United States has not yet formally asked for Ukraine's assistance in the matter. The statement positions Ukraine as a potential mediator or participant in resolving the tense standoff over the critical global oil chokepoint.
