Germany funds Patriot missiles for Ukraine

Germany has signed a $3.7 billion contract to supply Ukraine with "several hundred" Patriot PAC-2 GEM-T interceptor missiles, funded by Berlin and built by Raytheon. The missiles will be manufactured at a joint facility in Schrobenhausen, Germany, and are Ukraine's only air defense system capable of stopping Russian ballistic missiles. This deal comes amid ongoing Russian missile and drone attacks on Ukrainian infrastructure and Zelensky's appeals for more air defense support from allies. The funding is part of Germany's broader military aid to Ukraine, which includes AI drones and other systems.
