Russian political prisoner sent to punishment cell

Ibrahim Orudzhev, a student at Belgorod State University and a political prisoner, was sent to a punishment cell (SHIZO) on the eve of a scheduled visit with his mother. His mother told RusNews that prison officials took him there 'on purpose' right before the visit, and his lawyer has been unable to reach him. Orudzhev was detained in November 2023 while photographing a military enlistment office in Moscow; the investigation claims he was conducting reconnaissance for arson, while he says he was photographing the schedule to register.
