Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a warm introductory phone call with Hungary's Prime Minister-elect Péter Magyar. Magyar expressed his intention to maintain strong ties with Israel and invited Netanyahu to a ceremony marking 70 years since the Hungarian Uprising. Netanyahu welcomed the remarks, invited Magyar to a government-to-government meeting in Jerusalem, and said he expects close relations to continue as they did under Viktor Orbán. Both leaders agreed their foreign ministers will meet soon to further strengthen bilateral ties.
