Indian Coast Guard seizes 35 tons of betel nuts

The Indian Coast Guard ship Amogh has apprehended two Indian Fishing Boats (IFBs) involved in smuggling betel nuts from Bangladesh. Authorities seized 35,000 kg of the contraband, valued at approximately ₹1.65 crore (about $200,000 USD). The operation marks a significant interdiction along the maritime border and highlights ongoing efforts to combat cross-border trafficking and illegal coastal trade networks.
