US pressures Israel for Lebanon ceasefire

The United States is pressuring Israel to implement a complete ceasefire in Lebanon and refrain from attacks inside the country, potentially starting in the coming days. According to Israeli Channel 12, the American proposal defines the ceasefire as "temporary," after which, similar to the arrangement with Iran, an ultimatum would be issued to resume fighting within a week. Israel has not yet decided on the matter, which was discussed at a meeting of ambassadors in Washington, and the IDF is reportedly preparing for a potential "stop" signal from political leadership. The Political-Security Cabinet is convening to discuss the issue, with some ministers pushing to resume strikes in Beirut and across the Litani River instead.
