SOUTHCOM's Joint Task Force Southern Spear conducted two lethal kinetic strikes on two suspected drug vessels transiting known drug-trafficking routes in the Eastern Pacific. Five individuals were killed across the two strikes, with one survivor rescued from the first strike as U.S. authorities activated search and rescue efforts.

Donovan, Joint Task Force Southern Spear conducted two lethal kinetic strikes on two vessels operated by Designated Terrorist Organizations (cartels). The operation is part of what SOUTHCOM describes as "applying total systemic friction on the cartels."
